Choir

The company is probably best known for its staged musical theatre productions, but also enjoys producing concerts, concert versions of shows, compilations and smaller productions.

As well as performing at various locations in Stratford and the surrounding villages, the choir has also travelled to Europe and beyond. In 1989, the society was asked by Stratford-upon-Avon Town Twinning Association to provide the after-dinner entertainment for a visit from its French twinning town, L'Isle Adam (near Paris). It was such a successful evening that the society was invited to join the next exchange to France to sing in the town. Over the following years, the choir has performed several times in L'Isle Adam, Marbach-am-Neckar (also twinned with Stratford-upon-Avon), Weimar (in their year of European City of Culture), Vernon, and Ontario, Canada.

The present conductor, Maddy Evans, has been associated with the company for several years, firstly as accompanist and then as Musical Director for the Choir. She was also the Musical Director for our productions of Guys And Dolls in 2009 and The Boyfriend in 2008. Under Maddy's direction, the Choir has gone from strength to strength, performing both summer and winter concert programmes, much enjoyed by critics, audiences and the performers themselves.
